REGION: Mark Rock, the new General Manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria | Progresiv
As of April this year, Mark Rock is the new General Manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria. Mark Rock takes over as General Manager from Charlie Cunningham-Reid, who will lead the Corporate Affairs & Communications Department of JTI in the UK. 
“JTI has entered its third decade of presence in Romania: I came here to stay and develop the business, so we will continue to invest in our brands, our factory and people. We will work together with the authorities in the future as well, in a constructive and transparent manner, for a stable legal and fiscal environment and to combat cigarrete smuggling”, said Mark Rock, the new General Manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria.
Mark Rock has approximately 28 years of experience in the tobacco industry. In 1987, he joined the Sales and Marketing department of Gallaher UK, where he held various positions of more and more complex responsability, culminating in the management of that department of JTI in the UK. In 2007, Gallaher, located in the FTSE 100 company, was acquired by JTI, and in 2012 Mark was appointed head of Key Accounts, Channel & Category Management Planning department in Geneva, where the headquarters of the JTI is located. Later, he led the Corporate Trade Marketing department in Geneva, supporting the development and exploitation of trade marketing capabilities on the whole group level.
JTI has started its activity in Romania in 1993 (at that time being called R.J. Reynolds), and was one of the first multinational companies established in Romania. Last year, JTI Romania has completed its new headquarters in Bucharest. Located near the factory, the building with an area of 5,000 sqm is built on four levels, hosting more than 200 employees. In total, JTI Romania has about 1,000 employees working in production and sales offices across the country.
JTI, a member of the Japan Tobacco Group, is one of the largest international manufacturers of tobacco products. JTI sells world-renowned brands such as Camel, Winston and Mevius (Mild Seven).
