Purcari producer, 25% growth in business in H1 | Progresiv
Wine producer Purcari Wineries reported revenues of 87.8 million lei for the first six months of the year, marking an advance of 25% compared to the first half of 2018. In terms of net profit, the company registered an increase of 35%, to the threshold of 21.1 million lei.
"The first two months with the Purcari team were extremely satisfactory. I am impressed by what I have found here, but also by the immense potential we still have in front of us. As we continue to grow the company, we set very ambitious goals and the results for first semester are a proof of the significant efforts made by the team. We do not intend to slow down this pace”, added Eugen Comendant, Purcari Wineries Operational Director.
Poland contributed most to the growth, reporting a 47% increase in business, as a result of improved Bostavan brand performance. "We continue to focus on the renewal of the Bostavan range, increasing by 30% in all markets, for the benefit of our partners and consumers", is stated in the financial report published by the company.
Purcari Wineries was founded in 1827 and operates four production platforms in Romania and Moldova. The group is a leader in the premium wine segment in Romania, with a 30% share and the largest wine exporter in Moldova, delivering in over 30 countries. In 2018, the company reported business of 169 million lei, an increase of 19% and a net profit of 46 million lei, marking an advance of 58% compared to the previous year, according to the financial report published by the company.
