POLAND: Biedronka testing grocery vending machines | Progresiv
Biedronka has begun trialling a vending machine outside one of its stores in Wroclaw. The machine carries necessities such as milk, eggs, cottage cheese, and even dog food, biznes.onet.pl reported.
Vending machines would allow Biedronka to make basic products from its offer available to consumers 24/7. They would also enable the chain to reach places where it cannot open a store, for example tourist resorts, university campuses, older residential projects lacking grocery stores, or petrol stations, said Krzysztof Fraczek, CEO of the company Vendoexpert, which operates the pilot scheme.
If the machines prove popular with consumers during the pilot phase, they will be rolled out across the country, Mr Fraczek told the website. (www.ceeretail.com)
