Olympus enters the ice tea category | Progresiv
Olympus, one of the largest dairy producers in Romania, brings to the local market a new range of products made from 100% natural ingredients, made from tea plants harvested from the Greek mountains.
The new product, Olympus Ceai de la munte (Tea from the mountain), is the only cold tea with 100% natural ingredients on the local market, made from Sideritis tea plants, with no added sugar, no additives and no caffeine.
The product is available in five flavors - mint, lemon, pomegranate, peach and aronia.
"The decision to introduce a new range of beverages into the Olympus portfolio came naturally, as a result of the company's long-term development strategy, through the diversification of the product portfolio. We identified an opportunity in the market and subsequently turned it into the challenge of creating a tea made only of natural ingredients", said Madalina Toma, Olympus Marketing Manager.
Hellenic Dairies Group, the largest dairy processor in south-eastern Europe, has been present on the Romanian market for ten years, investing over 130 million euros locally. The Olympus dairy factory in Halchiu, Brasov county, was opened in 2011, and its production is intended for both the local market and exports. Currently, 45% of the production of the factory is directed to foreign markets, the most important being Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden or Bulgaria.
Headquartered in Trikala, Greece, Hellenic Dairies is a business with operations in 43 countries worldwide. Olympus currently has five production units in three countries (Greece, Romania and Bulgaria), which produce a full range of dairy and natural juices.
In 2018, the company reported locally a net turnover of 468 million lei, marking an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. In terms of profit, Olympus reported a net result of 12.4 million lei, while in 2017 it reported losses of 1.04 million lei.
