Nestlé to invest 64 million euros in Hungarian plant | Progresiv
The Hungarian subsidiary of food-producer giant Nestlé is investing more than 20 billion forints (64.5 million euros) at its pet food production plant in Bük, officials announced at a press conference in the Hungarian Parliament, according to reports. Through the investment, the Hungarian plant is expected to become the biggest pet food production center in Europe. The investment is foreseen to create 70 new jobs, raising the current headcount to almost 1,000, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
Hungary’s National Economy Minister Mihály Varga said at the press conference that both the Hungarian and the Swiss governments are committed to strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
The minister added that Switzerland is among the ten biggest investors in Hungary. Currently 300 Swiss companies employ approximately 40,000 people in Hungary while foreign trade between the two countries rose by 10% last year. (www.bbj.hu)
