Mihai Voicu takes over Bergenbier’s management | Progresiv
Mihai Voicu will take over the management of Bergenbier S.A from March 1st 2020, replacing Lucian Ghinea, who has decided to leave the company after seven years as General Manager. Voicu will oversee operations in Romania and coordinate the commercial department of the beer producer. Prior to this appointment, he was Managing Director of Kamenitza Bulgaria - a company owned by Molson Coors, the owner of Bergenbier.
"Mihai Voicu has been active in the Molson Coors group for over eight years and has extensive commercial experience, acquired as Sales Manager Bergenbier SA, as well as General Manager Kamenitza Bulgaria, a position he has held in the last year. In the new role he will be responsible for shaping the Bergenbier SA strategy in accordance with the organizational priorities, creating strategic partnerships and strengthening the company culture. Mihai Voicu will have the support of a new management team, which will be finalized and announced at the beginning of March 2020" , is shown in a company statement.
"Our efforts will focus on accelerating the company's growth rate and continuing to provide excellent beers that can be enjoyed at special times by beer lovers in Romania", said the new CEO. Graduate of the EMBA program - General Management - at Tiffin University, Mihai Voicu has over 18 years of experience in the FMCG sector.
Lucian Ghinea had accumulated an experience of over 18 years at the Bergenbier producer, with a break of one and a half years between 2008-2009. Over the years he held various positions in the financial department and worked for almost five years in the group, as an expat. In the last two years, he also represented the Romanian Brewery Association as President, a role taken over from January 1, 2020 by Dan Robinson, the director of Heineken Romania.
Bergenbier S.A is the third largest player in the local beer market, after Ursus Breweries and Heineken. It currently operates a production unit in Ploiesti, and the team has about 600 employees. Since 2012, the company has been part of the Canadian group Molson Coors, one of the largest brewers in the world.
