Lidl Poland to roll out Lidl Pay by Q1 2020 | Progresiv
The Lidl chain begins testing its own mobile payment service called Lidl Pay. The small-scale pilot project will last for several months and will be made available to all customers in Poland, most likely in February 2020 - according to unofficial information from the portal Wiadomościoscihandlowe.pl.
According to local press, in June, in the Lidl Plus discounter application there was a short module enabling the attachment of a payment card. The Lidl Pay service did not work then, and any references to it in the application were quickly hidden.
The Lidl Pay service has been around for some time in Spain. Users using it attach their payment card to the application and then authorize this operation, e.g. by using an SMS password at their bank. To pay for shopping in the store, you need to generate a QR code in the application, which is then scanned at the cash register in the store. (www.wiadomoscihandlowe.pl)
