Lidl plans 15 Czech stores and new DC | Progresiv
Lidl has begun construction of a new warehouse near Kladno, in the town of Buštehrad, some 20 kilometers northwest of Prague. The warehouse is estimated to be ready by 2021 and will provide employment for around 500 people in the region. The retailer also aims to open 15 new stores in the Czech Republic by the end of 2019.
According to Lidl CR director Pavel Stratil, an investment of over 3 billion Czech Koruna (117 million euros) will be involved in the construction of the warehouse and the 15 new stores. The warehouse will have a storage space of 60,000 square meters, of which one-third of the space will be temperature controlled for fresh or frozen goods. The logistics centre has capacity to supply up to 90 outlets and can accommodate approximately 95 trucks in its parking space. (www.kantarretailiq.com)
