Kaufland Polska plans modernizations, new stores and innovative commercial concepts for 2019 | Progresiv
In 2019, the Kaufland chain in Poland accelerated the development of the store chain, also modernized subsequent retail outlets, but also invested in new technologies and commercial concepts that are to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of supermarket chains on the Polish market in the future, improving convenience and increasing shopping experience.
Representatives of the Kaufland chain emphasize 2019 is a period of further development for the company, as well as stabilization of its strong market position. At the beginning of the year, the chain opened four new stores in Wrocław, Lublin, Nowy Sącz and Gliwice. It currently has 212 stores in Poland and in the near future the company is planning four further investments.
The operator also envisages the modernization of subsequent selected supermarkets, consisting not only in refreshing their appearance, but also implementing modern and environmentally friendly solutions. The chain representatives emphasize that the company, considering the dynamic development of technology and the growing and changing expectations of customers, treats modernization of stores as a continuous process. And they indicate that "the design of each of our points may slightly differ from each other, which largely depends on the available sales area as well as the preferences of customers from a given region. What is characteristic in every Kaufland store can be connected to a free Wi-Fi network. Moving around the facility is facilitated by an intuitive customer guidance system based on color and graphic identification consistent with the markings used in advertising leaflets.
The company also tests new solutions in selected stores. One of such interesting concepts is the Kaufland store in Krakow. As part of the changes introduced for the first time, over a dozen thematic zones adapted to the needs of modern consumers were created in the store in Krakow. Among them an area with products for active people, including both food products such as nutrients, isotonic drinks and energy snacks, as well as sports equipment, including balls, skateboards, dumbbells and exercise bands. There are also separate areas of regional cuisine and world cuisines. The store also significantly expanded the available range of premium brands, separated the department with natural cosmetics, as well as organic products for washing and cleaning. A special area was created for children with toys depicting their favorite Disney characters. The Kaufland market in Krakow with themed zones was the first store in Poland in this arrangement.
