Kaufland brings loyalty scheme to Czech Republic | Progresiv
Kaufland shoppers in the Czech Republic can now sign up to the Kaufland Card loyalty programme and take advantage of customised benefits, including discounts, contests and other offers. Kaufland says it is only the second European market to offer the scheme and expects 1.5 million shoppers to join up in 2020.
The programme can be accessed either as a standard plastic card available in-store or digitally by downloading the app. The retailer says it will add additional features over time and look to extend the benefits to cardholders to include extra perks not connected to shopping its stores.
Kaufland operates 133 stores on the Czech market and employs over 23,500 people. According to the latest known financial results in the financial year 2017/2018 its sales reached 57.6 billion crowns (2.3 billion euros). Profit before tax rose 56 percent to 3.08 billion crowns (123.8 million euros). The chain belongs to the German group Schwarz, which also owns Lidl. (www.kantarretailiq.com)
