HUNGARY: Cerbona maker invests 800,000 euros in capacity expansion | Progresiv
Naponta Kft., the maker of Cerbona cereal products, has expanded production capacity with an investment of 250 million forints (803,000 euros) in Székesfehérvár, the company told state news agency MTI. Half of this amount has been used to put into operation a new production line making puffed cereal slices. Production has been moved to one location from the previous two and the remaining production hall has been upgraded.
Managing Director Tamás Mészáros said Naponta entered the market for puffed cereal slices in 2014, where Cerbona is now the second biggest brand.
Cerbona is the leading brand among branded muesli bars and breakfast cereals in Hungary.
Naponta posted revenues of more than 3 billion forints (9.6 million euros) in 2015, up 10% from the previous year, with exports accounting for almost 20%. The company projects a further 8% revenue increase in 2016.
Naponta purchased the factory of grain company Cerbona in 2012, which had been under liquidation since 2010. (www.bbj.hu)
