GREECE: Marinopoulos modernizes stores | Progresiv
Greek retailer Marinopoulos has begun to modernize and renovate its stores. The concept was created in partnership with the Economic University of Athens and ECR and aims 'to create modern shops where everything works with absolute precision'.
480 stores to be refurbished by end of 2016
It is now live in four stores in Argyroupoli, Amfitheas, Alimos and Kolonaki. Each store provides a blueprint for the upgrade of different sizes and types of Marinopoulos stores. By the end of 2016, the retailer hopes to refurbish its 350 Marinopoulos stores and 130 franchised stores to the new concept.
As part of the rebranding, the Marinopoulos logo will no longer include the Carrefour brand, although local reports have speculated about discussions to supply Carrefour’s private label products. (www.igd.com)
