FRANCE: Leclers tests electronic price comparisons | Progresiv
Leclerc's store in Quimper, Brittany, is the first to install the Data Tag solution which shows price comparisons on the electronic shelf-edge label. Leclerc has installed around 3,000 electronic labels, which display the product's price in local competitors' stores; this figure is crossed out, to avoid confusion with Leclerc's price. 
Leclerc's trading strategy focuses principally on maintaining and communicating its price leading position. Comparison website Qui est le moins cher (who is the cheapest) is the main vehicle for this, while Leclerc also highlights savings versus nearby competitors with posters outside its stores.
