FRANCE: Leclerc opens Paris store after 25 years absence | Progresiv
Leclerc has opened a new store in the suburbs of Paris, France, following a 25 years break since its local affiliate at the time was excluded from the network to then join Auchan. The store’s selling area spans over 2,000 square meters complemented by a 1,000 square meters storage area.
The store’s assortment is centred on fresh, features on-the-go snaking counters (sushi, sandwiches) and provides a home-delivery service.
The store has been installed in a mixed residential and office area, 100 meters away from a commuter’s train station, neighbouring a Decathlon (newest and largest - 46,000 square meters - Paris store), Boulanger and Leroy Merlin store.
Leclerc stated the store is an exception and does not constitute a confirmation of any attempt to further penetrate Paris. (www.kantarretailiq.eu)
