Farmec, solid growth in online sales in 2019 | Progresiv

Farmec, the largest Romanian cosmetics producer, continues to develop its e-commerce segment, reporting for 2019 a 46% increase in online sales, compared to the results obtained in the previous year, and for 2020 it estimates an increase of at least 25% . “2019 has been a success in terms of results obtained by the Farmec online platform, these being in line with the upward trend of the e-commerce market. The average monthly number of unique visitors has increased to over 200,000 people, which shows the preference of Romanian consumers to shop online. We are always attentive to the needs and desires of the consumers, which is why this year we started implementing two new delivery methods for online orders, which offer customers efficient and faster solutions, having the possibility to pick up orders directly from our brand stores or from lockers made available by partner courier companies”, said Alina Spanu, Farmec Online Sales Manager.

A significant increase was also observed among the transactions carried out on the mobile phone, their number increasing by more than 60% in 2019, compared to 2018. This growth determined the company to plan a new strategy for expanding the online store by developing its own mobile application. In addition, the online platform will have a new format, with functionalities as intuitive as possible for consumers.

As for the payment method, out of the total orders registered in 2019, over 25% were paid with the card, an increase compared to the previous year. To further encourage payment by card, Farmec continues to run special campaigns, ensuring users that payments are secure and faster.

Due to the new digital marketing strategies in the e-commerce area, Farmec estimates that by 2020 the average monthly number of visitors will increase by 20% and at the same time, the average value of the shopping basket will increase by about 15%.

At this moment, the average value of the shopping basket is over 150 lei, the most appreciated ranges in the company's portfolio in 2019 being: Gerovital H3 Evolution, Aslavital, Farmec, Gerovital Tratament Expert and Gerovital Beauty.

Farmec S.A. Cluj-Napoca, the largest cosmetics producer with 100% Romanian capital, sells the portfolio products in approximately 30 countries. In addition to production, the company also operates in the retail area, with eight Farmec stores, 20 Gerovital stores and two Gerovital stores opened through the franchise system.
