Dusan Wilms to rebrand Real hypermarkets | Progresiv
Almost three years after taken over by Terazone Enterprises, a company controlled by Gerardo Monzillo and Dusan Wilms, both former managers of the Metro group, Real hypermarkets are to be rebranded to Remarkt banner.
“Changing the name is just a change of form, not of substance. We remain the same real people and we keep our promise to our customers, to offer fresh, quality, unparalleled products”, the company representatives said.
Last year, the two entrepreneurs also launched the first convenience stores, which also operate under the Remarkt brand. Currently, the retailer operates two supermarkets in Oradea and one in Arad.
Real entered the local market in 2006 and has been one of the most important international players at national level. In 2012, Auchan took over 20 Real stores, in a transaction amounting to 250 million euros, and in early 2017, Metro also sold the last four Real hypermarkets to Terazone Enterprises, controlled by Gerardo Monzillo and Dusan Wilms, for 88 million euros.
At this moment, only two of the four hypermarkets are operating on the local market, in Oradea and Arad, the other two units being rented to the Jumbo toys retailer.
