Daikin Romania set a business growth of over 10% for this year | Progresiv
Daikin Romania, the local subsidiary of the world's largest air conditioning producer, reported a turnover of 28.6 million euros in the financial year 2018-2019, up by 12% from the previous year. 
For 2019, the company will maintain its upward trend, Daniel Vasile, Managing Director of Daikin Romania, estimating an advance of over 10% for the business.
"Both the residential and the commercial segment reported an increase in 2018, with the largest development being in the area of VRV solutions and Flagship air conditioners by 25% and 66%, respectively. At Group level, in the previous year, we have achieved another important goal and we have strengthened our expertise in refrigeration by acquiring the Austrian AHT group, commercial refrigeration market leader, following a transaction worth 881 million euros", said Daniel Vasile.
Among the commercial projects made in 2018 are the Phone Palace (Bucharest), The Light office building (Bucharest), Lebada Luxury Resort & Spa complex (Danube Delta), Central Hall (Iasi), Courtyard by Marriott (Bucharest), MARe Museum (Bucharest), Expo Business Park (Bucharest) and Novis Plaza (Cluj Napoca).
The company's retail customers currently include Penny Market, Carrefour and Profi.
In Europe, the company employs approximately 7,600 people and has 14 production plants based in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria. Daikin has been on the Romanian market since 1994 with 43 employees and a complex network of distributors focused on commercial, industrial and residential solutions.
