Cristian Popa takes over the mangement of Martens beer producer | Progresiv
Cristian Popa, the executive who has led Intersnack's local operations for the last five years, was recently appointed Managing Director of local brewer Martens.
Cristian Popa is one of the senior managers in the consumer goods industry, having 27 years experience in the market. He started his career in 1992 as a sales representative for the JTI cigarette producer. Two years later, he became Sales Director of Stimorol, and in 1995 he joined the sales team of Procter & Gamble.
Among the companies in which Cristian Popa has worked are InBev Romania, but also Tnuva, where he managed the sales department.
Martens has a history of over 45 years on the local market, being one of the most popular beers in the south-east of Romania. The company is one of the largest private label producers on the local market, but also has own brands such as Madonna, Senior, Hora Unirii, Damburger and Driver.
The company reported for the financial year 2018 a turnover of 24.76 million lei, an increase of 37% compared to the previous year and reduced its losses, from 10 million lei, to 8.8 million lei.
