Cora, 3 million euros investment in the modernization of its first hypermarket | Progresiv
16 years after the inauguration, the Cora Pantelimon hypermarket, the first opened in Romania by the Franco-Belgian group Louis Delhaize, is going through an extensive modernization process, an investment amounting to 3 million euros.
Thus, the Cora Pantelimon hypermarket becomes the first in the chain to transform itself and offers consumers an innovative and intuitive format in which the shopping experience is as seamless as possible.
“Cora Pantelimon has, above all, a special sentimental value for us. I am glad that thousands of Romanians will soon discover a new store, whose concept is focused on the new type of consumers, who want easy access to the store and a new shopping experience. We do not just change the furniture, the project is large so that in the end, consumers can buy as quickly as from a convenience store thousands of products that they can only find in a hypermarket”, said Thierry Destailleur, the general director of Cora Romania.
This month, the first stage of transforming the Cora Pantelimon store was completed, the project being set to be finalized in the first months of 2020. The modernization process will continue in all 11 Cora hypermarkets in Romania, respecting each time the local specific of the customers’ preferences and perfecting the purchasing experience that the retailer offers to its customers.
Cora Romania, part of the Louis Delhaize group, has been present on the Romanian market since 2003, the group operating 11 hypermarkets in Bucharest and in the big cities. The retailer reported last year business of 1.75 billion lei, slightly lower than in 2017, reporting a negative result of 38.97 million lei.
