Pan Food, the confectionery producer launched 18 years ago in Sibiu, exports about 20% of its production, among the most important markets being the United States, Canada and Europe.
“We started exporting from our first year of existence. Romanians from the diaspora are our main clients, but not only, the quality and taste of the Romanian products are really appreciated by foreigners. Today we are present in several countries in Europe, the United States and Canada. We are permanently interested, of course, to enter new markets and we are constantly working on developing relationships with more and more international partners”, says Ioan Stanea, co-founder of Pan Food.
Together with his associate, Gheorghe Pristavu, Ioan Stânea laid the foundations of the business in 2001. The investments made over time in Pan Food total about three million euros. Recently, the company completed a project worth 1.5 million euros, from European funds, to expand the storage and production space, respectively the launch of a new product - spiral wafers filled with cocoa cream, coconut and vanilla.
Since 2007, the production has been carried out in the factory of over 3,000 square meters located in the P2 Industrial Park in Sura Mica, Sibiu County. Here are made products such as Batonul Copilariei, Lica cake with wafer layers and caramel sugar, Cindrel nougat and Bliss, Salami of biscuits, Sureanca assorted cakes and Dorothea, filled nuts. In parallel, the manufacturer also makes its own brand for retailer Rewe, the owner of Penny Market.
Currently, 30% of the company's sales are made in modern retail, the products being listed in Metro Cash & Carry, Penny Market, Selgros, Auchan and Supeco stores.
If last year the turnover of Pan Food was 17 million lei, with a profit of over 777,000 lei, for 2019 the company estimates that the business will exceed 20 million lei.
