Coca-Cola HBC volumes locally, sustained in Q3 by soft drinks and water | Progresiv
Coca-Cola HBC Romania, the leader of the local soft drinks market, continues its advance in the local market, reporting for the third quarter of this year an increase in volumes between 6% and 9% (high single digits) compared to the same period of last year, according to the financial report published by the company. Compared with the results reported in the semester, the bottler improved its volume sales, in S1 the advance was 1-4%.
"In Romania, volumes have increased high single digits, with a strong increase in the categories of soft drinks and water. Soft drinks reported an advance of about 5%, supported by both Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero. Also, at the good performance reported by Fanta in Q3 contributed the launch of new flavors in the zero version. As for Schweppes, the execution led the excellent performance”, as stated in the financial report.
As for the other categories, the volumes of ready-to-drink tea reported a decrease of over 10%, influenced by the Nestea delistement. On the other hand, sales of energy drinks and water have increased by over 10%, supported by the launch of Coca-Cola Energy and the launch of Glaceau smartwater.
The financial report does not specify the actual volume sold by countries, but the region of emerging markets, of which Romania is part, has increased by 3% in volume, up to 322 million unit cases. This region includes markets such as Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, FYROM, Moldova, Montenegro, Nigeria, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine. As for the net sales in the region, the producer increased its revenues by 9.8%, to 869 million euros.
At group level, in the third quarter of the year, volumes increased by 1% to 622 million unit cases, while net sales reported an advance of 5% to 1.96 billion euros .
