CHINA: PepsiCo to introduce budget Android smartphone | Progresiv
Pepsi is planning to launch a new low-cost P1 Android phone featuring the soft drink brand’s round logo and red, white, and blue colours. It will reportedly launch in China, with a recommended retail price of about 110 dollars. 
The technical specifications include a 5.5-inch 1080-pixel HD screen, 2 gigabytes of RAM, fingerprint sensor, 4G long-term evolution (LTE) connectivity, 13-megapixel camera and 5MP front-facing camera and metal unibody design. The Pepsi P1 is manufactured by Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co.
Pepsi’s phone also includes 4G LTE wireless Internet, Android Lollipop-based OS, microSD slot, and 3,000 milliampere-hour battery with a one-day single charge, according to Tech Times. Body olour options include silver, gold, and blue.
The phone isn’t actually in production. That will happen if the crowdfunding target of 3 million yuan (468,000 dollars) is met. Strictly targeted at the Chinese market, the crowdfunding is taking place on a Chinese website.
