Carrefour Group to extend home delivery service throughout France by 2020 | Progresiv
Carrefour Group has announced its decision to extend its home delivery service throughout France by 2020. The retailer aims to boost eCommerce performance by generalising two of its services; extending home delivery service throughout France and offering a 2-hour click & collect service on non-food products as well.
For 2019, the retailer targets to extend the Carrefour Delivered at Home service to 45 cities of medium density and 30 cities of low density. Furthermore, the retailer intends to extend the ‘Carrefour Delivered at Home’ service to all cities by 2020. The retailer aims to open a new platform in the south of Paris and several points of sale to manage order pickup and meet the requirements. However, the retailer will maintain a 100% manual model in stores for areas with low density population.
As for the 2-hour click & collect service, the retailer will roll out a system applicable to all hypermarkets that offer the service on 23 July 2019. With 189 stores covered to date, the unified system will make it possible to discover stock availability of all products on the retailer’s website. (www.kantarretailiq.com)
