BULGARIA: What investment plans have the Bulgarians from Ficosota | Progresiv
Ficosota, an international manufacturer of products for home care and personal care, hygiene products, paper supplies and snacks, has budgeted 20 million euros worth of investment in developing the production and logistics in the next two years. The investment is part of a development project of the company, acting as a support component in the penetration of new markets.
"We plan to invest around 20 million euros in developing the production and logistics of the company. We have already identified specific projects set for 2015 and 2016", said Krasen Kyurkchiev, general director of Ficosota.
As part of the development of the production base, the company invested last year 6 million euros in a new logistics center in the town of Shumen, Bulgaria. The new logistics center covers an area of 8,500 m², with a storage capacity of 20,000 pallets. The height of the center is 15.30 m, being the tallest warehouse in the Balkans. This feature generates a high efficiency of the logistics process, allowing the storage of several pallets on a smaller area. In addition, due to heating and lighting standards imposed, the new logistics center includes a special control system, thus respecting energy-saving rules.
Ficosota Ltd. was established in 1994 in Bulgaria, but many of the company's brands have become major players on foreign markets as well. Ficosota products are available in 50 countries on several continents.
