Billa Romania’s CFO of 11 years has joined Auchan | Progresiv

Eleonora Amariutei, the manager who led the finance department of Billa Romania chain in the last 11 years, recently joined Auchan Romania team in the position of CFO. She replaces Jose Luis Fajardo, who took over other responsibilities within the French company.

Amariutei worked 15 years at Billa Romania, which she joined as chief accountant. In 2005, she was promoted CFO of the company, thus entering the Board of Directors.

Before entering the private sector, the manager worked for three years as Inspector within the Ministry of Finance.

Billa Romania is currently in the process of integration within Carrefour Romania, which also involves rebranding the chain. Thus, by the end of 2017 all Billa stores will operate under the Market banner, which Carrefour operates on the supermarket segment. The takeover transaction was completed mid this year, after receiving the approval from the Competition Council.

Auchan Romania operates 32 hypermarkets, with a turnover of about one billion euros in 2015. The retailer plans entering the supermarket segment, where it is active internationally with several brands - like Simply Market or A2Pas.
