BELGIUM: Albert Heijn starts online sales and opens its first three pick-up points | Progresiv
Albert Heijn has reached another milestone, thanks to the launch of its Belgian online sales and the addition of three Belgian pick-up points in Antwerp, Lokeren and Ghent. The three pick-up points also mean Albert Heijn Belgium's web shop can really start handling online orders. "We want a broad range, a personal service and low prices, even on the internet. AH.be is like one of our new stores, because we feel the experience should be similar everywhere", general manager Luc De Baets said.
The experience in the pick-up points will quite different however. Customers can remain in their car in the Antwerp pick-up point, with only electronic payments as a possibility. Lokeren and Ghent operate rather similarly, but are located at Albert Heijn stores. The third type requires the customer to get out of his or her car to pick up the order.
