Auchan Russia goes online through Tmall | Progresiv
French retailer Auchan is mastering e-commerce in Russia - the chain began selling non-food products through one of the Alibaba Group sites, Vedomosti writes.
Auchan hypermarket chain has opened a Russian online store at the Tmall site (part of the Alibaba Group). The retailer will be engaged in delivery and service. For each successful order, Auchan will pay Tmall a commission, like other sellers of the site, its representative says. The amount will depend on the type of product.
Among the assortment of the retailer so far, there are only non-food products: electronics, household chemicals, cosmetics, pet products etc. In total - 6000–7000 items. In the future, the assortment is planned to be expanded, said Aresh Alamir, marketing director of Auchan Retail Russia.
Cooperation is built on the model of the marketplace, explained the representative of Tmall in Russia. Delivery and maintenance are handled by the seller itself - Auchan.
“At the start, Auchan is setting up logistics for customers in the regions of its presence and should further expand it throughout the country”, he added.
Alamir said that the launch of delivery throughout Russia is planned in early 2020. (www.retail.ru)
