Albalact group reported revenues of 100 million euros in 2015 | Progresiv
Albalact group, the largest player on the local dairy market, who owns Albalact SA, Raraul SA Campulung Moldovenesc and Albalact Logistic Ltd, ended the financial year 2015 with net income of 444 million lei (100 million euros), up by 8.9% compared to 2014, when turnover was 408 million lei, according to IFRS consolidated financial reports.
In terms of net profit made by the Albalact group of companies last year, it amounts to 12.62 million lei, significantly higher than the net profit reported in 2014.
"We are pleased that we were able to pursue our strategy of profitable growth. We aimed to have a good balance between a single digit revenue growth and profit growth. Last year, we concentrated on investments in marketing and the success of the new projects exceeded our expectations" said Stephane Batoux, General Director of Albalact.
As for this year’s plans, "the company aims to keep the same strategy to sustain profitable single digit growth. We remain focused on traditional Albalact brand, but we are planning other innovations on the yogurt segment, most likely in the second half of the year. We will also continue to expand and optimize the distribution activity", added Stephane Batoux.
At the beginning of the year, Albalact, leader on the dairy market, announced that it will be taken over by French group Lactalis, which owns LaDorna in Romania. For starters, Lactalis has signed a contract with vendor shareholders holding 70.3% of the aggregate capital of Albalact: Raul Ciurtin, Lorena Beatrice Ciurtin, Crisware Holdings Limited, Croniar Holdings Limited (44,85%) and RC2 (Cyprus) Limited (25,45%). Ciurtin indirectly holds Albalact shares through Crisware Holdings Limited and Croniar Holdings Limited.
The transaction will be completed most likely in the first half of this year, after the Competition Council will approve Albalact’s takeover by Lactalis.
Albalact holds two dairies - Albalact at Oiejdea and Raraul in Campulung Moldovenesc as well as a transport company – Albalact Logistic, having over 900 employees. The company has a portfolio of over 150 products, marketed under its five brands: Zuzu, Fulga, De Albalact, Raraul and Poiana Florilor.
