After Bucharest, Carrefour takes the “PET payment” in other 5 cities in the country | Progresiv
Carrefour Romania continues the circular economy program "We put a price on plastic" and launches the payment with the PET in five other cities in the country - Timisoara, Oradea, Cluj, Constanta and Buzau.
The "PET payment" will be stationed for 10 days in the 6 cities, as follows: Carrefour Cluj and Carrefour Constanta (October 11 - October 20), Carrefour Oradea and Carrefour Timisoara (October 25 - November 3), Carrefour Buzau and Carrefour Park Lake (November 8 - November 17).
During the mentioned periods, customers in the 6 cities will be able to buy fruits and vegetables from local producers in the Carrefour hypermarket in their city, with PETs. Each PET values a fruit or vegetable.
The pilot program "PET payment" was held in Bucharest, in Carrefour Baneasa, for almost 3 weeks. In the end, Carrefour collected over 7.5 tonnes of PETs, and those over 3,000 people who visited the stand received over 2 tonnes of fruits and vegetables from local producers.
The French retailer Carrefour continued its advance on the local market, reporting in the first six months of this year an advance of 7.6% compared to the same period of 2018, up to 1.05 billion euros. In like-for-like terms (excluding new store openings), the retailer increased its business by 3.6%, which is the second most important growth rate at European level, after Poland.
