AB InBev purchases Belgian brewer | Progresiv
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB Inbev) is reported to have purchased Belgian brewer Bosteels, the maker of speciality beers including Tripel Karmeliet. No financial details of the deal were disclosed but the value of the deal is estimated to be 200 million euros. 
According to reports, the family-run Bosteels will continue to run the brewery as part of AB Inbev’s s craft and speciality division.
It has previously been reported that the Dutch between Heineken was in the running to buy Bosteels.
Disclosure of the deal is likely to come as a surprise to some, as AB InBev has still not sealed its 107 billion dollars purchase of SABMiller.
Bosteels is currently supported by the Dutch private equity company Waterland.
It is unclear if the Dutch private equity company is reducing its stake or selling out, according to the report. Bosteels brews a number of speciality beers including kwak, Tripel Karmeliet and Deus.
The brewer was founded in 1791 by Evarist Bosteels and has been family-owned for seven generations. (www.foodingredientsfirst.com)
