12% advance for Agricola business in H1 | Progresiv
Agricola Group of companies posted in the first six months of 2016 a turnover of 345.46 million lei, up by 12.7% over the first half of 2015. The accelerated growth is base on increased sales generated by the companies within the group, who produce and sell products under Agricola brand, except Avicola Lumina Constanta and Agricola Magazine, who posted a decline of 11% in sales for the first six months.
Thus, Agricola International SA, the largest company of Agricola Group, which integrates the poultry production chain and logistic operator, recorded between January-June a turnover increased by 17.6% compared to the one reached last year, currently reaching about 201.833 mil. lei.
"Turnover has increased due to poultry sales up by almost 15% in volume (21,248 tonnes) compared to the same period of 2015 by maintaining a mid-market price for poultry lower than the past year, both in domestic and European market, influenced by European regional policies. Agricola has assumed a program of further growth, aimed at exceeding the 40,000 tons of sold poultry and an increase of differentiating products quantities (Happy Chicken and Farmer’s Chiken, in particular). Since September 2016 we will increase again the production of Happy Chicken", said Grigore Horoi, President of Agricola Bacau.
