SPAR on track to meet store targets in Greece | Progresiv
SPAR has said it remains on track to reach its aim of having 80 outlets operational in Greece by end-2018 and more than 300 stores over the next four years.
SPAR Hellas has so far opened eight stores in Greece, and aims to have 18 outlets open by end-August. Spar’s biggest investment so far has been on the island of Naxos, which saw an existing store being converted to a 1,500 sq. m. outlet (from 800 sq. m.). SPAR also operates stores on the islands of Skiathos, Crete, Kos and Kefalonia, as well as in Athens, and is looking to open stores in the cities of Larissa and Agrinio and on Rhodes and Kythnos.
SPAR also said that it now offers more than 550 own brand products in Greece, and estimates that by teaming up further with local suppliers, its own label collection will exceed 900 products by the end of 2018. (www.kamcity.com)
