ROMANIA: What happens with Kaufland employees’ salaries after the fiscal changes | Progresiv
As a result of the legislative changes, Kaufland Romania, one of the largest players in the local retail, will integrate the employer's contributions into the employees’ gross salaries. Thus, every employee of Kaufland Romania will have a higher net salary, in average, by 1.5%.
"The company thus understands the concerns of employees and their families and ensures that, beyond legislative changes, the company makes every effort, with facts, for their salary security", says Laura Iancu, Human Resources Manager, Kaufland Romania.
At the end of last year, the retailer increased the salaries of commercial workers to 2,000 lei gross, including meal tickets.
Kaufland is among the largest retail companies in Europe, with over 1,250 stores in seven countries and a chain of 115 stores in Romania. At local level, the company has over 15,000 employees. Last year, the retailer reported a turnover of 9.691 billion lei locally, up by 5.6% year-on-year.
The Executive adopted the Ordinance amending the Fiscal Code, which includes the transfer of contributions from the employer to the employee, the "solidarity" tax of 2,25% (renamed the "insurance contribution for work"), which remains with the employers and the tax reduction on income from 16% to 10%.
