ROMANIA: Solina Group has officially become the owner of Supremia | Progresiv
Solina Group, one of Europe's largest food industry ingredients producers, announced it has completed the acquisition of Supremia Group, owned by Levente Bara. 
Supremia is a leader on the market of food ingredients (such as additives, dyes, etc.) and spices for the Romanian food industry, having as clients large cold cuts producers, canned foods or bakery and pastry producers. The company is active in Eastern and Western Europe, as well as in Scandinavia. The manufacturer ended last year with business worth 196 million lei, up by 13% from 2015 and a profit of 11 million lei, marking a 30% increase over the previous year.
The announcement of Supremia’s takeover by the French group was made at the end of March. Following the acquisition, the Supremia Group management team will remain within the company.
Supreme Group was founded in 2000 by businessman Levente Bara and currently exports ingredients to the food industry in over 30 countries in the world with a portfolio of over 2,000 customers. The manufacturer also owns the “Povesti cu condimente” specialized stores.
Solina Group is one of the top players in the food ingredients industry on the European market, with 14 production facilities, multiple research and development centers and regional sales offices. Solina is also an important supplier for butcheries and the food service market. Headquartered in France, the company has around 1,200 employees, a direct presence in 17 countries and serves customers in more than 75 countries.
