ROMANIA: Selgros enters Bistrita with a compact store format | Progresiv
Selgros Cash & Carry Romania, one of the most important operators in local commerce, inaugurates its third compact unit in Bistrita, after those in Targu Mures and Alba Iulia, opened in 2016. 
The store has a sales area of 4,000 sq m (compared to the 10,000 sq m of Selgros standard units). Its structure integrates the defined market concept of quality and freshness, adopted by the company since 2014, with vegetables and fruits, fish and seafood, meat and bakery products. The store also offers a serving showcase with assorted cheeses and delicacies, meat meals and specialties. In addition, the unit provides a dedicated area for children articles, from toys and accessories to clothing and specific foods.
Selgros Cash & Carry Romania is one of the most important operators in Romanian trade, the company operating on the local market since 2001. Selgros currently owns 21 stores in major cities in Romania. Since 2011, the company is part of Transgourmet Holding AG with operations in Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Romania and Russia. The retailer reported last year a turnover of 734.2 million euros and a net profit of 5.62 million euros.
