ROMANIA: Paco Supermarkets opens the first “black” store on a former Profi location | Progresiv
The Paco Supermarkets chain, owned by entrepreneur Feliciu Paraschiv, expanded with a new store, opened in Focsani, on the site of a former Profi supermarket. This is the 11th supermarket of the chain and the first opening that the retailer has marked this year.
The new Paco store is located on Bucharest boulevard no. 13 and with the opening of the store, the retailer launched a new store concept, called internally "black store". The location has undergone a major refurbishment process, the chosen colors being dark gray and black. The shop has a total area of 700 sq m, of which 450 sq m represents the sales area. The offer includes about 10,000 SKUs, with customers also having access to a warm assisted display case and additional services such as bill payments, bank or road vignette payments inside the store and the parcel service.
Present on the local retail market since 1995, Paco Supermarkets is one of the most important retailers in the Vrancea area, with 11 stores in Focsani, Jaristea, Vidra and Odobesti. Paco Prod Serv, the company that owns Paco Supermarkets, registered a turnover of 84.4 million lei last year, up by 20% compared to 2016, and a profit of 1.43 million lei.
