Kaufland recently reopened the three stores in Iasi under the new concept that includes Food Court and Open Mall, which is the second city after Bucharest where the retailer introduces the respective format.
Kaufland stores on Pacurari Street no. 86M, the one on I.Pavlov Street no. 14 and Mitropolit Varlaam Street no. 20 feature a new design, technology and functionality. Moreover, these are the first Kaufland stores in Romania that offer commercial galleries with glass walls (glazed facades).
Also, all three stores benefit from a fresh new fish area at the showcase with assisted serving and a larger space for the fruit-vegetables area, which is equipped with chilling technology for the tables where the products are located. Near the bakery area are now available special bread slicing machines.
Kaufland is among the largest retail companies in Europe, with over 1,250 stores in 7 countries and a chain of 116 stores in Romania. In 2016, the retailer reported a turnover of 9.691 billion lei, marking a 5.6% growth rate, Kaufland remaining the leader of the local retail market, followed by the French from Carrefour.
