ROMANIA: Farmec invested over 650,000 euros in production last year | Progresiv
Farmec, the largest Romanian cosmetics manufacturer, has invested over 650,000 euros last year in the modernization and upgrading of production processes.
"2017 definitely marks the innovation and performance in the history of Farmec, focusing on an ascendant course, which we intend to continue to pursue. There are two elements that underpin our business strategy and have helped us set the trends of the local cosmetics industry. We rely on innovation at every stage of our product development. This has allowed us, at a very fast pace, to launch a whole range of maximum-efficiency products, unique to the market, to strengthen our position as a local cosmetics leader. It is a status that we will reconfirm in 2018 through our development plans", said Mircea Turdean, General Director Farmec.
Last year, the production unit in Cluj was equipped with a new automatic packaging line with a robotic system.
In addition, technology has been innovated for cleaning products labels, by switching from the classic way of self-adhesive labels to the shrink sleeve labeling method, allowing consumers to quickly identify the main benefits of the products.
From the point of view of packaging development, the main directions were design innovation, highlighting the product's benefits, ergonomics in use and sustainability.
Every year, Farmec launches and upgrades at least 100 new products, and the total production capacity is about 27 million products.
At the beginning of December 2017, Farmec's chain of brand stores consisted of 8 Farmec stores located in Cluj-Napoca, Arad, Brasov, Sibiu, Târgu-Mureş and Timişoara and 13 Gerovital stores located in Cluj-Napoca, Bucharest (3 stores), Constanta, Timisoara, Craiova, Ploiesti, Suceava, Iasi, Piatra Neamt, Galati and Ramnicu Valcea.
Farmec ended 2016 with a turnover of 196.8 million lei (43.8 million euros), up by 14% compared to the results from 2015.
