ROMANIA: Bergenbier, 28 million lei profit after 8 years of losses | Progresiv
Bergenbier Romania, part of the Molson Coors Group, reported a profit of 28 million lei last year, compared to 2016 when it reported losses of 5.2 million lei, according to data published by the Ministry of Finance. The result comes after eight years of losses, a period during which the producer reported cumulative losses of over 500 billion lei, according to public data.
Bergenbier also had positive dynamics when in terms of turnover, with net revenues of 599.21 million lei, up by about 5% compared to the previous year, when the producer reported a net turnover of 571.58 million lei.
Bergenbier is the third largest player on the local beer market after Ursus Breweries and Heineken. The main brands produced by the company controlled by Canadian group Molson Coors are Noroc, Staropramen, Beck's, Stella Artois and Lowenbrau, along which the company also imports Corona and Leffe brands.
