ROMANIA: Avincis wants up to 15% higher business this year | Progresiv
Wine producer Avincis, one of the most important players in the local industry, ended last year with a turnover of 5.2 million lei and aims for an advance of 10-15% for 2018, said for Progresiv Andreea Micu, who runs the business.
"The result of 2017 is close to the one budgeted. Our challenge every year is to balance our revenues with operating expenses by investing in expanding our distribution network and coming back with the amortization of significant initial investment, the key to the exceptional quality of our wine. In the first half of the year, we were faced with a situation that had an impact on several wine areas: the April frost. Fortunately, after a first moment of worry regarding the severity of the consequences, we concluded that this natural phenomenon affected a few vineyards of the Vila Dobrusa, where Avincis wine cellar is located ", Andreea Micu explained.
Another challenge for 2017 was to consolidate and expand the retail chain, where the company has recently entered, with the launch of the exclusive range of wines dedicated to this segment – Vila Dobrusa. At present, wines are listed on the Auchan, Carrefour, Real - Arad and Oradea and Mega Image chains. This area will also be a priority for 2018, says Andreea Micu.
Another ongoing project is the modernization of the winery by making new purchases as a result of increasing the vineyard areas. The value of the projects (wine cellar modernization, landscaping) is about 100,000 euros this year.
As for the 10-15% advance for Avincis business this year, Andreea Micu claims that the directions that will support the growth will continue to be the development of the HoReCa segment through the Avincis and Domnul de Roua brands, the retail (Vila Dobrusa) and the consolidation of the oenotourism services.
