ROMANIA: Agricola, business of 683 million lei in 2017 and growth on all lines | Progresiv
The Agricola group of companies ended 2017 with a total turnover of over 683 million lei, 5.31% higher than in the previous year. All the other companies in the group, respectively all categories of Agricola products, reported increases in 2017.
Poultry sales of Agricola Bacău amounted to 42,110 tons in 2017, 2% more than in the previous year and 6,2% higher in value, with a slight increase in the average price. The turnover registered by Agricola International SA Bacau in 2017 is approximately 401,324 million lei, compared to 387,002 million lei in 2016.
"The company's performance in 2017 was the result of a good execution in operations, with increases in the sale of Differentiating Products (Puiul Fericit) and higher added value products, while keeping prices of the main resources at reasonable levels also helped. All this led to a slight appreciation of the average price for our products. Agricola poultry sales have thus grown by volumes, but especially by increasing the share of high added-value products supported by a strong brand and inspiring promotional campaigns", said Grigore Horoi, president of Agricola.
Regarding the cold cuts category (raw-dried salami and cooked-smoked products obtained at Salbac SA), sales amounted to 124.843 million lei, 2.55% higher than in 2016 (real growth would be 10,51%, if we take into account from June 2016 the effects of the application of Law 321, whereby sales offsets are excluded from turnover as of that date). Thus, the raw-dry salami sold by the company reported last year an increase of 9.13% in value, respectively an increase of 6% in volume. Last year, sales of cooked-smoked products increased by 20.5%, and by 15% in volume, respectively.
Europrod SA, the company from the group that produces semi-cooked and ready-meal products, rose its business by about 21%, with an increase of 15% for marketed volumes.
"We are systematically growing this category, which is why we will make an investment exceeding 4 million euros this year in a new production line", said Agricola’s President.
Through Avicola Lumina Constanta, in 2017, 69,405 million eggs were sold, with the company reporting a 21% percent higher than in 2016.
The Agricola Group brings together Agricola International (poultry meat producer), Salbac (cold cuts producer), Europrod (producer of ready-to-eat), Avicola Lumina Constanta (eggs).
