ROMANIA: After 17 years within the company, Andreea Mihai leaves Carrefour | Progresiv
After 17 years in the position of Marketing & Communication, PR & Solidarity, Commercial Dynamics & Pricing Director for retailer Carrefour, Andreea Mihai leaves the company, the management of the marketing department being taken over by Catalin Samara, the manager who currently holds the position of Operational Director. 
Andreea Mihai is part of the Carrefour team since 2000, ten months before the opening of the first Carrefour store in Romania. As a matter of fact, at age 25, Andreea Mihai became the youngest Marketing Director of the French group on a new market that discovers the modern trade mechanisms. Before joining Carrefour, Andreea worked as an assistant, then as Brand Manager and Sales and Marketing Director for a company that marketed brands such as Versace, Escada and Dolce & Gabana on the local market.
Andreea graduated from the University of Bordeaux in France, where she obtained two diplomas in 1996 - French language and Economic and Social Administration. She continued her studies in Romania, where in 1998 graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration within ASE, and in 2005 she finished the Executive MBA INDE program from ASE.
Carrefour owns 307 stores in Romania, of which 32 Carrefour hypermarkets, 222 supermarkets (206 Market stores and 16 Express Orange stores), 43 Express proximity stores, 10 Contact proximity stores and an online store. The retailer ended the financial year 2016 with a turnover of 1.86 billion euros, up by 8.47% over the previous year, making it second in the top retailers after Kaufland.
