Purcari bets on China and lists 14 new wines | Progresiv
Wine producer Purcari Wineries Plc. consolidates its presence on the premium and medium plus segment in China by expanding the range of products available on this market. Thus, the Purcari Group brings to Chinese consumers 14 assortments made by Bostavan and Bardar from Daos Reserve, Ice Wine Daos, Daos sparkling and Daos brandy ranges.
The Asian/Chinese market is a significant one for the manufacturer, accounting for a 4% share of the Group's finished product sales in the first nine months of 2017. China is one of the world's largest wine markets, standing at 4.582 million liters in 2016, according to Euromonitor, and wine imports recorded an annual advance of 45% in 2016. Euromonitor data also reveals a significant consumption potential for wine in China as in 2016 the consumption per capita in this country was of 3.3 liters, compared to 16.3 liters per capita in Romania.
"China's market is one of our points of interest, and the success so far with the Daos mainstream range has convinced us of the potential of our products in this area. We start confident in this new stage of strengthening our presence on the Chinese market and we are eager to see the first reactions of wine lovers in this country related to the new range offered", said Artur Marin, Commercial Director, Purcari Group.
Product presentations will take place in two dedicated exhibitions in China in March and will be available on the shelf, for starters, in the eastern part of the country.
