PepsiCo announces Nooyi exit as CEO | Progresiv
PepsiCo has announced that Indra Nooyi is set to step down as CEO of the group, after 12 years of leading the food & drinks giant.
Nooyi has been with PepsiCo for 24 years, and was CFO before taking up her current position in late 2006. During her time, PepsiCo has made a major push in the healthier-for-you and snacks categories, and she has overseen a strong rise in revenue and share price for the group.
In a statement, Pepsico noted: “She has delivered a strong and consistent financial performance, managing with an eye toward, not only the short-run, but the long-run as well. As CEO, she grew revenue more than 80%, outperforming our peers and adding a new billion-dollar brand almost every other year.”
Nooyi will step down as of 2 October 2018, and will continue as Chairman until 2019. She will be succeeded by group President Ramon Laguarta, who has been with PepsiCo for 22 years, and currently oversees global operations, corporate strategy, public policy and government affairs.
