L'Oreal Romania invests in expanding its chain of stores | Progresiv
After L'Oreal Romania's business has exceeded the threshold of 300 million lei in 2016, the French cosmetics manufacturer is investing in the expansion of its own retail chain and announces the opening of two Kiehl's units, in Cluj-Napoca and Iasi and the inauguration of its third NYX Professional Make-Up store in Baneasa Shopping Mall Bucharest. With these openings the manufacturer reaches seven commercial units on the local retail market.
Opened in Iulius Mall with a total area of 40 square meters, Kiehl's store in Cluj-Napoca is the first point of sale of the brand outside Bucharest. The expansion towards consumers outside the Capital will continue with the opening of Kiehl's store in Iasi in late May.
The NYX Professional Make-Up store opened in Baneasa Shopping Mall, just one year after its launch in Romania, is the third store of the brand.
"The makeup market had a very dynamic growth in 2016 and we expect it to continue also this year. Part of the growth is due to the birth of a new generation of makeup consumers who know and understand the products very well and use them to express their personality", said Demet Kesisoglu, General Manager of the Consumer Products Division, L'Oreal Romania.
L'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetics manufacturer, has been on the local market for more than 19 years and entered the brand stores market in May 2015 by opening Kiehl's in Afi Palace Cotroceni. The company is organized on four operational divisions: the retail division (with brands such as L'Oréal Paris, Garnier and Maybelline), the dermatocosmetics division (Vichy and La Roche-Posay), the professional products division (L'Oréal Professionnel, Matrix and Kerastase) and the luxury division (Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani etc.) In Romania, the company reported in 2016 a turnover of 314 million lei, up by 10% compared to the previous year.
