Hochland Romania has a new general director | Progresiv
As of January 1st 2017, Erik Hageleit is the new general director of Hochland Romania. The executive has over 20 years of experience in the consumer goods industry before Hochland managed the global business of premium cosmetics manufacturer Maria Galland. 
Erik Hageleit is not at his first managerial adventure in Romania. He led the local businesse of German cosmetics manufacturer Beiersdorf for six years, between April 2007 and March 2013. According to his Linkedin profile, Hageleit joined Beiersdorf in 1999, holding positions such as Key Account Manager, Marketing Head Personal Care Division and Senior Product Manager Personal Care in Germany and France. The list of companies for which he worked also includes L'Oréal.
Hochland is one of the most important players in the cheese market, being present in Romania for 20 years. The local branch was opened in 1998, and the manufacturer has two own factories in Sighisoara and Sovata.
According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2015 Hochland Romania reported a turnover of about 216 million lei, slightly lower than the previous year when sales were 217.6 million lei. At profit level however, the company had a significant increase in 2015 versus 2014, increasing from 12.8 million lei to 19.6 million lei.
Hochland company is a family business that was born in 1927 and currently is one of the largest cheese producers in Europe, with 11 factories in 6 countries.
