Heineken brand increased volume sales by over 10% in Romania | Progresiv
Heineken Romania showed last year a growth of more than 10% in Heineken brand sales volume compared to 2016, according to the company's financial report.
Volumes sold for the Heineken brand rose by 4.5% at group level last year, one of the brewer's best performances in recent years. A double-digit increase in volume sales reported, in addition to Romania, Brazil, South Africa, Russia and Mexico.
Also, cider sales advanced by up to 5% to 4.8 million hectoliters, driven mainly by the global promotion strategy and volumes sold outside the UK. Thus, significant increases in cider sales have been reported by South Africa, Poland, Romania and Vietnam.
At group level, Heineken increased its business last year by 5% to 21.9 billion euros, while operating profit increased by 9.3% to 3.8 billion euros.
"We expect the business environment to continue to be marked by volatility and uncertainty. With the exception of major unforeseen macroeconomic and political developments, we expect to have an operating margin of around 0.25% for this year", said Jean-François van Boxmeer, group CEO.
