GERMANY: Rewe Group begins rebranding Sky stores | Progresiv
Almost one year after receiving approval to launch a joint venture with regional retailer Coop Kiel (owner of over 160 Sky supermarkets and Plaza hypermarkets in northern Germany), Rewe Group now prepares the rebranding of the first Sky stores to Rewe supermarkets 
Rewe plans to rebrand all 163 Sky stores by mid-2019. At the moment, the retail group is expanding the Sky range with the brands "Rewe Bio", "Rewe Fine World" and "Rewe Best Choice".
Until now, the refurbishment was mainly oriented towards the fresh assortment, due to reports that there are difficulties with the delivery of the products, which the company denies. Readers had complained that they had often stood in front of empty shelves in the Sky stores in Holtenauer Strasse and Weißenburgstrasse in recent weeks.
