Eberhart Raducanu is the new general director of Prefera Foods | Progresiv

Eberhart Raducanu, an experienced executive within retailer Aldi and food ingredient producer Dohler, has recently been appointed as General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prefera Foods, one of the major players on the local market of canned foods.

The manager has been in position since June this year and will be responsible for developing the brand and business Capricii si Delicii, as well as managing the Salconserv plant in Medias. These businesses are being developed by Raul Ciurtin, who has recently announced a 4 million-euro investment in expanding Capricii si Delicii products and in the ready-meal area.

Raducanu worked at the beginning of his career with the German retailer Aldi, and after 22 years in Germany he returned to the country, where from 1996 held the position of General Manager of Dohler Romania. Since 2014, Raducanu has held the position of Head of Sales South East Europe within Dohler.

Prefera Foods owns a factory in Oiejdea, Alba County, and last year acquired the Salconserv production facility in Medias. Here will be produced Capricii si Delici products for the ready-meal category. Raducanu's appointment coincides with their launch on this market segment.

Overall, the investment budget for Prefera Foods amounts to eight million euros this year. The company is expected to reach its 14 million euros turnover this year, according to Raul Ciurtin's earlier statements.
