Coca-Cola HBC Romania volume sales rose by up to 10% in Q1 | Progresiv
Coca-Cola HBC Romania, the largest local soft drink bottler, has increased volume sales in the first quarter of this year by as much as 10% (high single digits - 8-9%), shows the company's financial report.
All brands in the portfolio, including Coca-Cola, Fanta, Dorna or Cappy Pulpy, have seen a positive development. The two-digit rise (over 10%) in January and February was followed by a weaker but still positive result for March. The reason given was the bad weather conditions of that month.
The business growth in this period was the sum of promotional activities, new product launches and marketing activities.
Regarding the emerging markets, area that also includes Romania, volume sales declined by 0.1% in the first three months of the year, amid negative developments in countries like Russia and Nigeria. Instead, the results in Romania, Serbia and Ukraine reduced the decline percentage, the main categories that marked a significant advance being carbonated soft drinks and energizers. At the opposite side were the waters, still juices and ice-tea.
Coca-Cola HBC Romania reported a 6% increase in sales volume last year to 177 million crates (over one billion liters) compared to 2016. The company owns three factories locally, in Timisoara, Vatra Dornei and Ploiesti.
